The Young Church

Fr. Brendan's conversion story regarding catholic social justice teaching was inspiring.
He said that he had been critiqued as not preaching enough on justice. He felt that he needed to understand the Church's teachings on social justice from a personal point of view before he felt ready to preach about it. He did this through a kind of "examination of conscience" and through this understanding was able to make some significant changes in his life and actions.

Some changes: -no more shopping at Wal-Mart which does not treat its workers with
justice
-no need to purchase more than he needs
-being conscious that some of what he wears and owns may have been
made with the sweat of people working in slave-labor conditions
